BANBURY PRACTICE
This practice has been owned by the business for 94 years, since Jonathan’s grandfather Pete Walford set up a combined opticians and jewellers business in 1927. Pete’s son Richard, and Richard’s university friend Tony Round then took over the business and developed it further, changing the practice name to Walford & Round Opticians.
In the last 15 years, Richard’s son Jonathan and Tony’s son Michael have taken over the business and remain the practice owners and directors to this day.
Jonathan Walford is a dispensing optician at the Banbury practice. He has followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps, having already accumulated 26 years’ experience with the business.
Comprehensive eye examinations are carried out in our Banbury Opticians on a regular basis by Michael Round, Jason Cox and James Sutton. After which Jonathan Walford will use all his experience in spectacles and lenses to provide a perfect eyewear solution. What’s more, all our reception staff are trained ocular hygienists so will be able to offer additional advice on controlling your dry eye symptoms.

Finding the Practice
If you are visiting us by car, there is pay-and-display parking available on North and South Bar, and also in the NCP car park off Calthorpe Street. The practice itself can be found at the upper end of the High Street – it will be on your left, next to Wigwam estate agents, if you’re walking downhill from Banbury Cross.
